Welcome!

Planning Your First Visit? We’re Glad You’re Here.

We know visiting a new church can feel like a big step. Gretna United Methodist Church is a welcoming, diverse church in Gretna, Louisiana, just minutes from New Orleans. We want to make your first visit simple, comfortable, and meaningful from the moment you arrive.

You don’t have to have everything figured out. We’re imperfect people simply doing life together. We’d love for you to come and be part of that this Sunday.

--Pastor Marissa Horvath

What Should I Wear?

Come as you are. Some people wear jeans and t-shirts, others dress up a bit—but everything in between is completely welcome!

Where Do I Park?

There is a large parking area behind the church. You’ll find visitor and accessible spaces near the entrance, along with a covered drop-off area for rainy days.

What About Kids?

We love having children in worship! Our service is child-friendly, and we also have a Family Worship Space available if you need a quiet space.

What Is the Schedule?

  • Classes for all ages: 9:00 AM

  • Worship service: 10:00 AM

    • Worship lasts about 60 minutes

What Is Worship Like?

Our worship is relaxed and welcoming, with a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary music.

Is There Coffee?

Yes coffee is served—and yes, you can bring it into worship.  Sometimes we have pastries or doughnuts too. You’re welcome to bring them into worship and sit at tables or in the pews.

Will I be Singled Out?

No. You won’t be asked to stand, wear a visitor tag, or do anything that makes you uncomfortable. We hope you'll register your attendance in our online sign-in or let us know you're here so we can get to know each other!
