Bennie Carol (Burgess) Wade was raised in Hamburg, Arkansas where she began studying piano at age 5. Upon graduation from Hamburg High School, she attended Ouachita Baptist University on a National Merit Scholarship. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music Education degree.
As a public school Choral Director for 40 years, she held every office in the state organization and was frequently honored as Regional and State “Director of the Year”. Her students competed successfully on District, State, Regional, and National levels.
One of the highlights of her career was giving her students opportunities to enhance their perspectives by traveling cross-country for competitions and performances.
She now lives in Little Rock, AR where she is the caregiver for her 93 year old Mother and accompanies several school choirs.
Her partner in life and ministry until his death was her husband, Rev. Richard Wade.
She continues to serve as church pianist.
She has one daughter, Ellen, who is a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) and a Behavior Specialist for the Pulaski County Special School District. Ellen and her husband Jeff have 3 adopted sons, to whom Bennie Carol is "Bumblebee."
